Am I missing something, or is this new theme customizer way less flexible. Can’t seem to get rid of the side bar, I lost some of the height of the section settings because now it has the little window with the section structure of the template you’re editing (ex. Homepage) which is super distracting. Not a fan.

Hi @eCommBadassery Shopify’s pretty much pulled stakes on having staff interact on this forum.
lets be real it’s because of stuff like this where they never have a good response to dumb changes they make
Meta problems that make these complaints go no where fast
Search first, separate posts are just fighting it alone, like so many merchants asking for feature X then never getting it.

Either join those threads or at lest cross link them.
It’s you vs 5,000,000+ merchants NOT complaining, so to a big corp that’s a success.
For feature complaints contact shopify support directly, and get clients and their staff to do the same

It’s the problem with playing in someone elses sandbox, once they push a change like this it’s very unlikely to ever go back because of stuff like sunk-cost fallacies etc.
Same thing with the bloated code editor the old ones not coming back unless there was a significant amount of merchants speaking , and even then there were lots of complaints but they eventually die off.
So it’s a math problem, 1 v 5,000,000 merchants most not complaining about the change.
Underlying problem is that there’s no SLA or admin version freeze system, and the theme editor isn’t it’s own api developers can self-host so everyone using the customizer directly is a hostage to any change shopify feels like.

Is this your way of providing feedback to the core Shopify team?
Unfortunately they make these decisions in the background.
I’m sure they have their own means of doing user research but we’re not really in control in regards to what they decide in terms of Admin UI changes.
