New theme installed - where is everything?

Hello, we currently have DEBUTIFY theme, but we wanted to change it and we installed AVONE theme.

We chose the layout we like and started to modify it (it’s obviously unpublished, we will publish it when we finish all the editing).

We read online that installing a new theme does not delete stuff like product pages, collections etc. - thing is, the new theme is totally EMPTY. We can’t see products, collections etc.

Why is that? Did we do something wrong?

Check if your products are active or draft. If they are draft you will not be able to see them.

Also if this doesn’t work try publishing the new theme as your primary one and check if you can see them (if they are active).

You will not lose the progress you have on the other theme if you publish a new one. You can lock your site if you are worried but I don’t think you need to worry about that.

I just tried doing that. I published it for 3 seconds, just to check if products, collections etc showed - nothing happened. It’s as if I were working with a completely new shopify user which does not have any product inserted - which is obviously not true

PS. Of course products are active :slightly_smiling_face:

Hello Rob. Did you add navigation menu links and collections to the new theme? They will not be carried over if you change your theme. I cannot provide much further help without seeing what’s going on. If you would like, I can troubleshoot this for you. If so, please send me your .myshopify.com url and I will send collaborator access to you.
