New to Shopify - Impulse Template Help Please!

Hey everyone!
I’m extremely new to Shopify, moving over from Wix and have a few questions if anyone can help. Im sure the answers are pretty obvious but I have a headache from trying to learn the new platform!

I have been testing the Impulse template for free, haven’t published it yet.
I am trying to add multiple pages such as:
-About the company
-About the product
and various different collection pages.

When I try and create different pages and insert text or pictures, the content is duplicated and replaces any existing text and pictures on all pages, is there a way to stop this from happening?

Also, trying to create new pages… I create a template page but then it doesn’t give me the option to link on the page editor itself, the only two options in the drop down menu are default and contact.

Is because I haven’t published / purchased the template yet?

Apologies in advance, I have a LOT to learn on here!

To add a new Page to your Shopify store :

  • Login to your Shopify admin panel
  • Click on Online Store – Pages
  • Click on Add page
  • Enter the Title of your Page and its Content
  • You can choose whether to display or hide the Page under the Visibility section. By default, the page will be visible on your store. You can also Set a specific publish date to control when the Page will be displayed on your store
  • Click on Save

To add Content to your Page :

Shopify’s rich text editor displays text that you enter in the Content field in the same style that it will display online. You can format your text and change the text color by choosing options in the rich text editor. You can also insert links, tables, images), and videos into a webpage.

You can also edit the HTML code for the page by clicking the Show HTML button to view and make the changes. Click on Save once you’re done editing it.

To add a link to your Page :

  • In the Content field of your Page, highlight the text that you want to add a link to
  • Click on the Insert link button
  • In the Link to field, enter the web address. Enter a descriptive Link title to help with SEO.
  • Click on Save

To edit a Page :

You can edit a Page to add or delete Content, or make any other changes

  • Login to your Shopify admin panel
  • Click on Online Store – Pages
  • Click on the Page Title that you want to edit
  • Make the changes required
  • Click on Save
  • Go the Page on your website to view the changes.
