New to the Shopify App Store with FosterFlow – Any tips on getting eyes on a new email marketing app?

Hi everyone!

I just launched my first Shopify app, FosterFlow, an email marketing tool designed to make automated campaigns simple for small to mid-sized stores.

I’m excited to share it with the community, but I know getting traction on a new app can be tricky! I’d love to ask for your advice:

  • How do you usually find new apps to test?

  • What makes you want to try a new app vs sticking to the big names?

  • Any tips for getting genuine feedback from early users?

And of course, if you’re an email marketing user, I’d love to hear what you love (or hate) about your current tools. All feedback helps me make FosterFlow better!

Thanks so much for any tips or thoughts you can share!

Hey congrats on the launch! Email marketing is a crowded space but there’s definitely room for tools that nail simplicity for smaller stores.

To answer your questions from a fellow app builder’s perspective:

How merchants find new apps mostly through community recommendations like this one, the Shopify App Store search, and word of mouth in seller groups.

What makes them try something new: a very specific problem your tool solves better than the big names, social proof from stores their size and a genuinely free trial with no credit card friction.

The big names win on trust. You win on focus. Lean into whatever FosterFlow does better than Klaviyo or Omnisend for a small store that specificity is your best marketing.

Getting genuine early feedback reach out directly to your first 10 users personally. Not a survey email. A real message asking one specific question. “What almost stopped you from signing up?” gets better answers than “how was your experience?”

Good luck with FosterFlow.. happy to share more if useful!

Wow, thank you so much for this thoughtful reply! This is pure gold—especially the part about focusing on what we do better for small stores. That’s exactly the niche we’re trying to nail with FosterFlow.

I love the tip about asking “what almost stopped you?” to early users, that’s such a simple but smart way to get real feedback.

Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience as a fellow builder. Let’s definitely stay in touch!

Thanks again!

Hi there @Elvis98 first things first, major congratulations on the launch of your app! Email marketing is a space that has major players like Klaviyo and Shopify mail already there so you need to lead your marketing by showing what new stuff your app brings compared to the major names most people already use. I believe that should be your major focus moving forward- amplify the things your app can do that the others can’t :clinking_glasses:
