I’m at a loss as to how to create my first newsletter. Are there templates somewhere? Are they easy to follow? For some reason I have a complete mental block and fear about this. Help.
Good question. There are apps you can use. The Shopify Email app comes straight from Shopify. Another option, Klaviyo, is the platform we use and probably the most popular email marketing solution for Shopify. Once you’re set up with an app, it will likely have templates - I know for certain that Klaviyo does. However, and I’m not sure if this will help with your mental block or not, some of the most effective email designs are simple plain text emails, written to sound like a human would normally write them. Since it’s you’re first newsletter, something like the following might be all you need:
Hi, {{ first_name|title|default:‘there’ }}.
Mes2022 here from the Company Name team. Thank you for signing up for our newsletter. This is our very first newsletter, and you might have signed up a while ago. If you no longer wish to be part of our mailing list, you can unsubscribe using the link below but we hope you’ll stick with us instead - we promise not to spam you, and we’ve got some great updates to share with you.

Now, that’s not perfect and if you wanted to use it as a starting point, you’d want to dress it up a little to better fit your brand but it should give you an idea of the style of email I’m recommending. These types of emails work great so there’s no need to be scared off because the templates seem too complicated.
