No Conversions over 3k visitors

Topic summary

A Shopify store owner selling paintings reports receiving over 3,000 visitors but zero conversions and requests feedback on their site (ai-paintings.ca).

Key recommendations provided:

  • Homepage improvements: Add a clear value proposition explaining what makes the paintings unique. Replace direct ‘Add to Cart’ buttons with softer CTAs like ‘Know More’ to guide users to product pages first, especially given the average price point of CAD $70.

  • Trust-building elements: Include customer reviews and testimonials on product pages to establish credibility.

  • Product presentation: Ensure high-quality images that showcase paintings in the best possible light.

  • Purchase incentives: Consider offering free shipping or a clear return policy to reduce friction.

  • Email marketing: Send promotional emails to past visitors if a newsletter list exists.

  • Testing approach: Run A/B tests and multivariate tests using statistical tools to identify and resolve issues related to clarity, user anxiety, and friction. Conduct competitor analysis to bring the site up to current standards.

The store owner expressed appreciation for the detailed feedback and indicated they would begin implementing these suggestions.

Summarized with AI on November 23. AI used: claude-sonnet-4-5-20250929.

If any one from support or community can have a look at my store and tell me what need to be done to get some conversions, would be awesome. I have over 3k visitors but no conversions.

Hi there,

From just a quick glance at your website, it looks like you have a nice selection of paintings and a professional design. Here are a few suggestions on how to potentially increase conversions:

  1. Make sure that you have a clear value proposition on your homepage. Visitors should be able to quickly understand what makes your paintings unique and why they should buy from your store.

  2. Consider adding customer reviews or testimonials to your product pages. This can help build trust and credibility with potential customers.

  3. Make sure that your product images are high quality and showcase the paintings in the best possible light.

  4. Consider offering free shipping or a return policy to encourage purchases.

  5. If you have a newsletter or email list, consider sending out promotional emails to past visitors to remind them about your store and encourage them to make a purchase.

I hope these suggestions are helpful! Let me know if you have any other questions or if you’d like further assistance.

Best regards,

Rohail Ali

Hi There,

I understand your concern. I did run an audit on your site. I see lot of problems from an user point of view like lack of clarity, anxiety and friction.

On the homepage, from a design perspective we could execute an competitor analysis and get your site up-to speed. The most basic one would be to have a actionable CTA on the first fold of your site which makes the user or visitor take a desired action like visiting the collections page and exploring all the paintings that you have.

Also on the homepage, you have an ‘Add to Cart’ CTA with an average cost of painting being 70 CAD. The user would not directly add it to cart rather if you give an option like a CTA called ‘Know More’ he would be directed to the product page where the user can learn a bit more about the painting and then make a informed purchase decision.

Similar ideas is what I have for your site and we could run A/B tests of multivariate tests using statistical tools which will help you resolve these problems on the site.
