The Shopify platform is very different from Amazon or eBay; it requires Marketing Campaigns through third parties like Google, MSN, Yahoo, and Facebook, which is costly and does not guarantee sales. However, our eBay store is doing well; it doesn’t cost me an expansive annual membership like Shopify. It’s one of the Best low-cost advertising sites. Please check with eBay.

Hello there @Openstyles
I’m very confused as to why my store isn’t generating as many sales as expected. I’d be truly grateful if you could analyse my store and if you find any faults, I’ll try my best to fix them with you. Here’s my website: www.nandini21.com
thank you for your time and I hope to here from you soon.
I also have no sales yet
Could you take a look at my website
Thanks
Hey @tanyontheangler ,
Thanks for sharing your website! While I was looking at it, I noticed some things that you may want to update.
Firstly, your homepage banner image is quite pixelated, meaning it’s a bit hard to see the image clearly. To ensure clear banner images on your website, it’s crucial to upload high-resolution images that are optimized for web viewing. Consider using images with a resolution of at least 1920 x 1080 pixels to maintain clarity across various screen sizes. Compress the image without compromising quality using tools like TinyPNG or Squoosh. Clear banner images are essential as they are the first visual element visitors see on your site. They create a strong first impression, convey your brand identity, and can significantly impact user engagement and conversion rates.
Secondly, when crafting product titles, aim for clarity and conciseness. A good product title should be descriptive yet concise, capturing the essence of the product in a few words. Avoid overly long titles that may overwhelm customers or get cut off in search results. Include key details like the product name, unique selling points, and relevant keywords. Consider using a format like “Brand + Product Type + Key Feature” to create informative and engaging titles. Remember, a well-crafted product title can improve search visibility, enhance user experience, and drive sales.
Lastly, have you ever thought about adding an About page? This will really personalise your business to your customers - it’s awesome for them to know who you are and what your company is about. It will also improve your conversion rate which is a big opportunity to grow your business! What do you think? Here is where you can go: https://shopify.link/1Q6w to learn more about conversion rates and how to create an ‘About Us’ page.
Let me know how you get on.

Hi @Najoua ,
Thanks for reaching out to the Community! I’d be happy to provide some feedback on your website. You’ve done a wonderful job putting it together.
To gather a bit more information, could you please share the current marketing strategy you’re using? As your shop has the essential features we’d recommend including, it could come down to marketing. If you haven’t done so already, I’d recommend checking out our 21 Real Ways To Drive Traffic To Your Website guide for tips and tricks on how to improve this.
With that being said, I’d recommend focusing on product presentation. How products are presented can play a big role in them selling. Where possible, it’s always recommended to use a white background to feature your products. To learn more about this, you can check out our Product Photography guide!
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Hi, I’m going to read your shopify SEO blog but I am also having difficulty making my first sale. I’ve invested quite a bit into facebook ads already, some ads have performed decently. My website is www.silverwolfshoppe.com if you could please give me suggestions.
Hi @SilverWolf ,
Thanks for reaching out. I’ve taken a look at your store and have a few tips for you:
- A lot of your collections have only one or two products, which makes them look empty or understocked. I’d recommending adding more products or grouping them together in smaller collections.
- Your prices are inconsistent and the cent amount is seemingly random (e.g. .49c, .39c, .10c, etc). I’d recommend having a consistent pricing structure across the store, such as having prices end in .99c or rounded to the nearest dollar. This helps the store seem more professional.
- I’d also recommending adding an email address or other method of contact to your contact page, as being easily accessible helps build trust with customers.
- Adding a great FAQ page can help customers answer questions before purchasing.
I hope this helps!
The Shopify platform relies heavily on advertising. Therefore, without investing in marketing, generating sales becomes challenging. eBay may be a more favorable option.
Best regards,
Stephen
Hiii! would you mind taking a look at my website and giving me some feedback?
Ive had my shop launched for 2 months and no sales. I have done some Instagram ad’s. Also I created a Facebook business page and I often post on Tik-tok. I recently created a YouTube channel but I haven’t posted a video yet. I am getting traffic, my session rate is 695 and up by 839 percent. So I am confused on why the conversion rate is low. Please help me lol
Hi Imogen,
I have the same problem. I am paying for ppc getting traffic but no sales. Could you take a look at my site please
Hi Imogene, I am also getting no sales despite paid ppc. Can you take a look at my site please www.Maneologyhairextensions.com
I understand the challenges you’re encountering. Many vendors are experiencing similar issues, where significant investments in marketing aren’t yielding the desired results.
Interestingly, I’ve been finding more success with sales on eBay recently.
Sincerely,
Stephen
It’s 2024 now and I’m jus seeing this, has anything changed? Are you getting leads /sales from Shopify?
Hi,
No still no sales.
Heidi
Hello Heidi,
I understand the challenges you are facing. The Shopify platform indeed operates differently from Amazon or eBay. In our experience, we have sold more products through eBay than Shopify or Amazon.
The Shopify platform requires additional third-party apps such as SEO optimizers, blog posting software, e-commerce linking software, and paid advertising from Google, Microsoft, Facebook, etc.
To successfully sell products on Shopify, a significant investment in these marketing tools and PPC advertising is necessary. Despite this investment, there is no 100% guarantee that your products will sell on Shopify.
We have found that eBay is the best platform for selling products without the need to spend a fortune on PPC marketing.
Good luck!
Stephen
