NO SALES - What I'm I doing wrong?

I opened my shop last week, followed all instructions, did all that was suggested and listed over 100 items but I’ve had only 2 views and no sales. Not sure what else to do? Any suggestions?

Thank you

Hi there, @Tracybeacham !

Welcome to the Community! Definitely a great place to gather some input regarding anything about the platform but most importantly, welcome to Shopify and congratulations on starting your new business.

With regards to your inquiry, are you able to tell us more about your business and the types of products that you are selling? Feel free to share any other information as well that you think will be useful for us to understand your store better. It is also common to share your website here. Myself and other contributors can visit it and provide some suggestions to get those sales started.

In the meantime, I have attached some resources that will be useful regarding this:

Please give these resources a review but more importantly, I look forward to hearing back from you so we can assist further.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’m adding my website. I make and sell stickers.

Can you share your store URL?

It’s important to get good traffic and convert your store traffic to sales.

Below are several techniques that when implemented correctly can increase your sales.

  1. Make the Home page attractive
Your Home page should be visually appealing, easy to navigate, and should load fast. Avoid excessive images and text. Stay on brand and on message with a simple, attention-capturing design.
  2. Testimonials to build trust
Adding testimonials, reviews, and badges to your home page beneath your main content will help in building trust and project credibility.
  3. Organize product collections/categories effectively
Make sure your customers experience better and more simple navigation through your store.
  4. Use high-quality product images
Clear, quality product images give consumers quick information on a product. They can see the color, pattern, style, shape, and quality of the product with a glance.
  5. Highlight product benefits
Avoid copy-pasting the description provided by the manufacturer. The product description gives you a great opportunity to integrate SEO keywords and the reason why one should purchase it.
  6. Optimize the Checkout process
You might lose a lot of customers right when they are ready to buy if your checkout process isn’t simple.
  7. Allow Guest Checkout
Offering a guest checkout option takes the checkout optimization process to the next level. You will get more abandoned carts if you want them to create an account to complete the checkout.
  8. Add blogging
Apart from writing great content on your product landing pages, you should also leverage blogging to educate, inform, and engage your target audience.
  9. Reduce Price Shock
If the extra costs (shipping, tax, fees, etc.) are too high you will get more cart abandonment. One way to eradicate this problem is by offering free shipping. Make sure to highlight that you’re not charging anything to deliver the products.
  10. Remind abandoned cart customers
With abandoned cart emails, you can remind your customers of the items they expressed interest in and then left your store with no intention of returning. You can do this from your store Settings > Checkout > Abandoned Cart section > Choose to send abandoned cart emails either one, six, 10, or 24 hours after a customer abandons a cart.
  11. Make sure your store is mobile-friendly
Over 54% of all web traffic comes from smartphones and tablets, so make sure your store is mobile-friendly.
  12. Site navigation menu should be easy to use
Your site’s main header navigation menu should contain links to collections, and pages like Contact Us, About Us, FAQ, etc. The footer navigation menu should contain links to the Privacy policy, Terms of Service, Return & Exchange Policy, and Shipping policy.

Your ongoing SEO efforts will work if the page is indexed/found by Google. Unless your store is many years old and has very few products, there is no guarantee that all the pages you carefully SEO’ed are actually indexed by Google. For getting your products on Google and getting better traffic and sales you have to inform search engines of your regular updates. flareAI automates the update submissions to all the major search engines. flareAI helps grow your Shopify store on Google Search, and 20+ of the world’s largest free sales channels.

Thanks for sharing your website, Tracey.

Upon visiting your site, please refer to the following for some feedback:

  • I was able to add products to my cart and reach the checkout page without any issues so that is good. However, the site does seem to be unfinished in some aspects. Please refer to the screenshots below regarding this. This may also explain why a prospective customer will not go through with their purchase:

  • I have attached our Store Design Checklist for your reference. You can use this guide to ensure all aspects of the store are ready for your prospective customers.

  • Also, if you are using a Shopify-made theme, you may qualify for 60 minutes of free design time from our team. Please visit this link for more information about this benefit.

  • For the type of store you have created, I also recommend adding a blog. This is a great place to further market your stickers as well as create more of a brand identity as well as brand trust. Checkout these resources for this: adding a blog to your store and creating a unique brand.

  • I also recommend adding a favicon to your website. A favicon, or favorites icon, is a small square image or logo that appears next to a web address.

Definitely let me know how these resources work out for you, Tracey. I look forward to hearing more from you.
