No self serve return notifications?

The fact that they dont have notifications set up so a customer service rep can be notified when someone submits a return request is mind blowing. To my knowledge the only way to do this is to also turn on order notifications (they are linked with return request notifications which is very dumb) but that will just bombard whoever is receiving them with unnecessary new order emails. Other thing that would solve this would be the option to automatically approve return requests instead of having to manually do it.

Shopify how is individual notifications not a thing for this? How are customer service reps supposed to know a return has been requested??

Anyone else have a workaround? I almost don’t believe there is not a solution for this lol

So when you add a staff email to that it turns on notifications for both orders AND return requests. Thats why I mentioned they would bombard whoever is subscribed to those emails with so many order notifications that it wouldn’t be worth it. Would make more sense to be able to choose those notifications separately and not bundle them together

Ah yeah that’s a bummer. Maybe setup a gmail filter type of thing (if you’re using gmail)?

I was also thinking we might be able to trigger this with MESA by looking at the refund created webhook, but I’m not sure that’s the same as a return being started.
