Norway alone is showing USD, all other countries show the correct Local Currency. I checked a VPN to Norway and indeed I see USD instead of NOK. We use Manged Markets and Norway is included in the active market list. All other countries are correctly displaying Local Currency. Thank you for any help you can provide!
Topic summary
A Shopify store using Managed Markets is experiencing a currency display issue specific to Norway. While all other countries correctly show their local currencies, Norway displays USD instead of NOK (Norwegian Krone), confirmed through VPN testing.
Root Cause Identified:
- Shopify’s AI chatbot indicated that local currency display requires Shopify Payments support
- Norway does not currently support Shopify Payments, which appears to be causing the USD fallback
Current Status:
- The merchant seeks official confirmation of this limitation
- Requests Shopify add support for Norway, noting it’s an important market for their winter products
Potential Workaround:
- A community member suggested using a Stripe account integration as a possible solution (LinkedIn link provided)
The issue remains unresolved pending official confirmation from Shopify.
UPDATE: Shopify’s AI-chatbot says Local Currency Display only works if a country supports Shopify Payments, which Norway does not, so I am presuming this is why Norway still shows USD. I would like this confirmed, and if so, please add support for Norway. We sell winter products and they’re and important market! Thank you.
