Hi @Laurenanna
Welcome to the Shopify Community!
Thank you for reaching out here to let us know about the issue you are experiencing with your product images.
Based on the information you have provided, it sounds like your images might be exceeding the requirements when uploading them to your Shopify store. It’s possible that the image file size and dimensions could be too large for our system to process.
The requirements outlined here indicate that you can upload images of up to 4472 by 4472 pixels, with a file size of up to 20 megabytes. PNG file type is recommended, however you can also use JPEG and some other less commonly used file types. We typically recommend using 2048 by 2048 pixel files if you are uploading square product photos. I would recommend referring to this cheat sheet here, as it’s a really handy resource for understanding the various requirements of different images on your Shopify store.
There are some steps you can take to potentially resolve this issue:
- Resize your images: You can use our free online image resizer to reduce the file size and dimensions of your images.
- Use the correct file format: The best file type to use is generally PNG, followed by JPEG. Ensure that your images are saved in one of these formats.
- After confirming the above, try re-uploading your product images to check if you are still seeing this error.
If none of the above steps work, or if you require further assistance, I would recommend reaching out to our support team so that we can investigate this further. Feel free to let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. We are always happy to help!
