i have a website on wix which currently has built in alerts when someone visits my website. is there a way to have this feature on shopify?

This is not something that is available currently from within the Shopify admin directly. It’s possible that you may be able to find an app that offers that ability or that adds that option to Shopify flow as a custom automation.
While I can recognize the value of knowing when a customer is on your website as soon as they visit, this can quickly become overwhelming when you start getting 100s of visitors or even 1000s in a day. This could quickly overwhelm most systems. I am not familiar with how Wix might offer this feature, and would love to learn more about the actual experience so I can make some suggestions based on what Shopify offers.
You do have access to your analytics dashboard which shows you data in realtime, including the number of current visitors. You can learn more about Live View and your store analytics here: Live View · Shopify Help Center.
I also want this feature.
I realize this is an old string, but I’m in the process of moving over from Wix, and I do quite like this feature (for a small business) it gives me an opportunity to interact with clients and also allows me to know in real time what people are looking at etc. Would love for this feature to be available in Shopify
