Number of Items purchased determines type of Box

Hi,

I am new to Shopify and excited to be migrating my store over soon from Woocommerce.

Is there a way to set up shipping rules in Shopify without an external app?

The rules would be quite simple:

If weight of order is under 2lb select carrier X and boxes 1 or 2

If weight is between 2 and 4lb select carrier Y and boxes 2 or 3

The box part is important because in some cases a USPS flat rate box is a better alternative than our calculated shipping boxes.

If that is not possible, is it then possible to have the calculated rate and always display the flat rate box options as well?

I am switching over, in part, to eliminate the need for buggy third party shipping apps and associated monthly costs but it looks like I may still need one. Please say it ain’t so!

Unfortunately, this is not possible with Shopify. To set specific shipping rules the only workaround is to use app/s like Multi Carrier Shipping Label App. If you are willing to switch to this app, let me know. I will elaborate on the features & complex shipping setups that the app can handle efficiently.
