We are a public university in the United States trying to utilize the Shopify platform. Our university has pretty stringent policies around PCI compliance in order to work with certain vendors. One requirement of the university is the vendor (Shopify) must complete a hecvat report in order for them to approve us to use them for an online store. Has anyone else been able to obtain this type of information? I’ve looked through the help pages and gotten many of the required pci attestations but have had no luck with hecvat. I’ve chatted with the ‘support’ line twice and they have been no help. One string of responses was clearly artificially generated and couldn’t have been a human responding as they started telling me how to sell school supplies through my store which was nothing close to the questions I’d asked. I would like to be able to connect with someone directly via phone or email to get this resolved so we can fully sign on to the Shopify platform and begin setting up a store.
Hi @Ulgc It’s not a satisfying answer for regulatory issues but you must contact support directly through support chat.
There is no support phone number anymore for general merchants.
Shopify laid off a large part of customer service to make customers go way with “AI” instead of solving the customers problem.
When dealing with bots on pretty much any platform just type “human”’ or “support advisor” etc
Or have a lawyer reach out to shopify legal for legal issues.
Thanks Paul. I did ask for Human support and was supposedly connected to an advisor but even that seemed artificially generated. Potentially someone they hired just using “AI” instead of actually reading and researching the issue.
