% off any item in an order but only for one item. How do I set this up?

I want to create a discount that they will receive 50% off of one item in an order but it can be any item. I just don’t want the entire order to be 50% off. Is there a way to do this without specifying qualifying items?

Hi Laura! When you’re creating the discount, are you choosing amount off products?

You could select ‘buy Y get X’ with half off the second item. Then you could limit the use for 1 per customer. This way you can choose your whole inventory for the buy one and then choose the whole inventory for the half off but then it would only apply to 1 item.
