I have been using Shopify for around 5 years, and there doesn’t seem like an easy way to do this. I utilize Shopify POS, selling mostly one-of-a-kind items at art fairs. When something sells, I have to go into the Shopify online app and then set that to zero also. It creates a lot of extra work, and I would like to use Facebook ads and want the product to show as sold out and/or hide the product online immediately. On a second note want to keep the product active so that these customers can create reviews. So would hiding them say as “draft status” might affect this. But don’t want to necessarily put the cart before the horse. Putting them as sold out would be the most beneficial right now.

You can set the inventory for POS and Online differently. So, whenever online inventory gets over, customers will be able to see Sold out button. Also, AiTrillion can be helpful for the use case that whenever customers visit on Sold out product, they will get button to Notify when the stock is available button. So, whenever the inventory is available, the web push notification will be sent to the customers.

Well, I was hoping for a super affordable way to do this but $99 is an expensive way to do this.
