Only allowing tags to show up on certain pages in Focal Theme

Focal is great in that you can add custom labels (tags) to products. That said, I don’t want the tags to show up on products on every page the products are featured on. For example, I want to mark certain items as NEW, under their featured category, but I don’t want the same products to be labeled NEW when they are featured under the New Arrival page on our website (it’s too redundant.) How can I edit the tag so that it only shows up on the product on one page and not another? I can do this with apps, but would rather just utilize this great feature on the Focal Theme.
