Goal: Limit displayed UPS shipping methods to those delivering within 3 days for frozen pizza shipments. In WooCommerce, a plugin hides options that exceed the 3‑day window (e.g., show Ground if ≤3 days, otherwise only 2nd Day or Next Day).
Status and responses:
A follow-up asked whether a Shopify solution exists to restrict options by delivery timeframe.
Staff referenced shipping profiles (product/region-based rate rules) but did not confirm time-in-transit filtering or conditional display by days.
Recent development:
A user reports their previously working setup stopped functioning around 10/27. UPS rates jumped from ~$17–18 to $30 for a $30 product. Multiple support contacts haven’t resolved the issue; user even upgraded their plan without improvement.
Open issues:
Whether Shopify’s built-in UPS can conditionally show methods based on transit time.
Cause of the sudden UPS rate increase and how to restore prior pricing.
Resolution: None yet; discussion remains open.

We have a current client who ships frozen pizzas from their restaurant and bring them to shopify.
Currently its a WooCommerce site with a plugin that takes the shipping zip code from the checkout info, checks with UPS to get the time in transit and then only shows shipping options that will allow the pizzas to arrive in 3 days or less.
So if ground shipping will take 3 days, that is listed as an option. But if ground shipping will take 4 days, that method is not listed and instead will only show 2nd day or next day shipping as an option.
Can we do the same thing with the built in UPS shipping service
Shipping profiles help you charge accurate shipping rates through product-based shipping rules. You can use shipping profiles to set shipping rates for specific products, and charge different amounts based on where you’re shipping your products to and from. You can learn more about shipping profiles here.

Dirk - I have all of this set up and it was working perfect until a few days ago. (Worked on 10/27). Calculating $30 shipping cost for UPS for a $30 product I am selling when it was $17-18. I have spoken with two different people via chat and email and still cannot get someone to call me to help resolve this. Every resolution they’ve sent back has been irrelevant and did not solve the problem. I have even upgraded my plan to try to resolve this and still nothing.
