We sell large products that mainly have to ship LTL freight. Some ideas can ship freight or ground. I want to give customers the option to choose if they want to ship Freight (using custom flat rate zones) or ground. Is there a way to do this for certain products?

Option 1: Use Shopify’s Shipping Profiles (Best for Built-in Solution). Go to Shopify Admin > Settings > Shipping and Delivery, scroll down to Shipping Profiles, and click Create New Profile. Add only the products that need a Freight vs. Ground option. Set up two shipping rates: freight and ground shipping. Save changes; customers will now see both options at checkout for those specific products.
Option 2: Use a Third-Party App
Try these apps: Advanced Shipping Rules, ShipStation, and Parcelify.
Option 3: If you’re on Shopify Advanced or Plus, you can enable carrier calculated rates to dynamically display Freight vs. Ground based on weight and dimensions.
