I find myself looking to share the url of a customer’s order status page with them. I can do this easily from the desktop, but when I view an order status page in the Shopify mobile app, the url is not present, nor is there an option to open the page in a browser to copy the url. Am I missing something? An option to copy an order status page url from mobile would be handy. I was looking for a feature request section of this community, but couldn’t find one.
Hi @Plastixmith
When I checked the Shopify admin app on my android device, I was able to open an order, click the three dots in the upper right side of the screen and choose “View order status page”. This launched the order status page in the browser on my mobile device, which I can then share through whatever method I prefer.
Are you able to duplicate those steps? If not, are you able to walk me through what you are seeing? Since this is referencing a customer order it is best to not share screenshots in the community of live order details. If you don’t have a test order you can use to show what you are seeing I would ask that you please contact our live chat support directly so they can authenticate your merchant account and securely review this with you.
To access our live support, please follow this link: Shopify Help Center. Next, you will want to follow the on screen prompts to sign in, choose your topic and issue and at the bottom of the help articles provided will be all available live support options.
Hi @Shay . Thanks very much for the reply! Those are the same steps I follow on my iPhone. However, the browser that opens up is one that seems native to the app, and doesn’t have any means of displaying or copying the url. That is to say that the window that displays the status page opens in the context of the app, and doesn’t have an address bar, history, options menu, or anything else that a regular mobile browser has. Literally the only action available is to cancel and go back to the order.
Thank you for the follow up on this! I tested this with my coworkers and was able to confirm that same experience you have on apple devices.
I will definitely share feedback to our developers regarding this and I would encourage you to reach out via our authenticated support channels to report this as a problem for your business as well.
As a work around, you can open your store admin via your mobile browser instead of the app which would provide you access to the browser version of the order status page. Not ideal, but it does work in this case.
