Hi,
How can I export orders CSV with Line Item Properties?
looking for any workaround, or I am open to using an app ONLY if it does Not require access to "Customer Information".
Appreciate any help,
Thanks
A merchant seeks to export Shopify orders with custom Line Item Properties (e.g., personalized dates like “25 December 2022”) to CSV format, but these fields don’t appear in Shopify’s built-in export function.
Key Constraint: The merchant will only use third-party apps that do not require access to customer information.
Confirmed Limitation:
Proposed Solutions:
Status: The discussion remains open as the merchant evaluates whether available apps meet their privacy requirements.

Hi, @Ram_A .
Rio here from the Shopify Community Team. I’d be happy to share some context here.
You won’t need to use an app as Shopify’s order exports do provide line item data. Was there a specific property you were looking to export that wasn’t showing in your order export?
Thanks, Rio for your response
You are right I can export most of the line items. However, I have customized “Line Items Properties”, and I can export it using zapier or any 3rd party app, yet I can not exported using the Shopify built-in export function, it did not show up on the exported CSV file.
Here is an example:
Line Items Properties Value: 25 December 2022
If I use the Shopify Customize report feature, does it help me to choose exactly what line items I want in my report?
thnx
You won’t be able to get these with any of the built-in Shopify exports. There are a number of lower cost third-party apps that can help with this.
Hi @Ram_A ,
Claudia here from Better Reports.
Have you been able to find a solution? If not, I would recommend our app Better Reports for this.
The built-in fields Line item properties and line item property (allowing you to select each one individually) can be used with all sales reports and be exported as CSV.
In addition to this, Better Reports has more than 60 built-in reports available out of the box that cover many common use cases for merchants. You can schedule reports to run at set frequencies to your email or Google Drive or export the reports in CSV, Excel or PDF format.
I encourage you to install Better Reports and start your free 14-day trial and I’ll be happy to set this up for you.
What do you think?
thanks for your response,
May I know if there is any way to disable your app access to Customer info?
Thnx
Hi @Ram_A
We are currently working on giving merchants the ability to decide whether or not to import their customer info.
While this feature is not yet ready and the app will request access to the data. However, I can assure you that all PII data, including customer names, emails, addresses, phone numbers as well as the PII information in orders, is masked for staff members.
You can also reach out to hello@betterreports.com to discuss the specifics.

Hi there ![]()
I noticed many merchants face the same issue while trying to export orders with detailed Line Item Properties, so I actually built an app specifically to solve this problem — it’s called Order Porter.
What it does:
Lets you export orders along with Line Item Properties (including custom fields).
No need to grant access to customer information — it only pulls the data you choose.
Super simple setup — no coding required.
You can check it out here: Order Porter – Shopify App
I believe this will perfectly address the issue you’re facing.
Hope this helps!
