As an artist I am not sure this is the best platform for selling. Does anyone have experience in this? Thank you.

You can absolutely set up an online store to sell your paintings and prints. Since Shopify’s software allows you to build an independent website, you’re free to market your products however you’d like. I recommend taking a look at our guide on how to sell art online to give you some ideas of how it can work for you, as this guide covers how to sell original works and prints.
In addition to an online store, you can use Shopify to connect to other sales channels like Facebook and Instagram. If you ever sell at popups or markets, Shopify Point of Sale can help with those in-person transactions too.
