OTP Mail Anpassung notwendig

Moeed

English Translation

Hey,

The reason you can’t find a template is that the OTP login email for the new customer accounts is hosted by Shopify and currently cannot be customized at all; unlike standard notification templates, it intentionally does not appear under Settings > Notifications. Unfortunately, there is no direct fix for this; it is a genuine limitation. Regarding the switch from the informal “Du” to the formal “Sie,” the only thing you can try is going to Settings > Languages to see if the relevant German text snippets can be edited there. While some system texts are editable this way, I have to be honest and say that these specific email texts often don’t appear there so it’s worth a try, but there’s no guarantee. You can change the logo under Settings, but not the wording. Also, if you are using B2B via Shopify Plus, you are locked into the new customer accounts anyway and cannot revert to the classic ones with their editable templates. In short: for the time being, the form of address in this email cannot be reliably switched to the formal “Sie.”

This is indeed a gap for the German B2B market, so it is best to report it on community.shopify.dev, where the Shopify team monitors discussions; there are indications that text customization for these login emails is planned, though nothing has been confirmed yet.
