Our horrible experience with Shopify! Why is our account on hold? NOT SPAM!

Dear reader,

Let me be clear, We sell Collecting Scifi and Fantasy Toys, boardgames and collectibles. That’s it. That’s all we sell. We have been a Shopify customer since apri 2021 and growing over 400% since our first year.

Our Shopify payments payouts got frozen a week ago due to a standard audit or something. Today we receive an email with the text below with a TWO DAYS notice until our account will be terminated or products removed..

Are you serious? It is in the middle of vacation time and we cannot expect that our EU providers are that quick (we only buy from EU as we are a Swedish entity)..

Not only have you frozen our funds and we are on a balance risk your make it a nightmare being a customer. The link where we could uploads documents only stated that we needed to upload a front and back ID, I expected to get to a second page but that was it and now the link doesn’t work and no one is answering from the legal team email with directions or support.

This is really the worst customer experience we have ever got from a partner.

THE FOLLOWING EMAIL WAS WHAT WE GOT:

"Your Shopify Payments payouts have been placed on hold until we can verify you are an authorized reseller. Please visit this link or login to your Shopify admin to securely upload the following documents:

  • Written authorization from all of the brand(s) or rightsholder(s) whose products you sell
  • Invoices from the suppliers these products are purchased from

All of your documents will be handled securely, according to our Privacy Policy.

If we don’t receive the requested documentation by July 13, 2022, we may disable your account.

If you are unable to provide the requested documentation you will need to remove the branded or trademarked product(s) from your Shopify store and admin.

it has been 10 days now since our payouts have been blocked. We have provided Shopify legal team with several invoices, proof of authentication and certifications from our European vendors that we are legit and are authorized to sell their toys and collectibles. And we are still waiting without any timeline or update. This is really bad customer experience. Is there anyone at Shopify that reads this and can please help us?

Did you ever get this resolved? I am currently dealing with this issue and apparently need authorization/invoices from the 200+ brands we carry :roll_eyes:
