Our Shopify Store is not processing credit card payments

ISSUE RESOLVED

Realized the $.01 was too low for fees. Adjusted to $1 and payment went through

Hello,

We have been running our store, www.helladopetoys.com for several months now. Sales have been picking up over the past 30 days. However, we noticed over the weekend that no sales were coming through it all. This happens from time to time, but I received a message from a customer claiming they were unable to pay through credit card or Paypal on the site. I created a test item on the site for $0.01 and attempted to run my card. After Shopify attempted to process the card I received an error message that said, “There was an issue processing your payment. Try again or use a different payment method.”. After this, I attempted paying via PayPal, which worked. My business partner attempted the same thing with his card and received the same message. We have attempted the same process today, and are still unable to process cards. To my knowledge, we have not changed anything in the back of house settings, and up until this past Friday, were taking payments just fine. Anyone have any suggestions on what we can do to fix this?

Thank you,

Ted

Hi, @TedYeakel !

Thanks for reaching out in our Community forums and for sharing your concern. I appreciate you updating the post with the resolution as well!

I just wanted to share some additional insight on testing orders for your store. If you are using Shopify Payments, you can use Test mode to test how your customers pay for their orders, and to test how you and your staff process those orders. While test mode is activated, you can’t use real credit cards to pay for orders, so you can check out this list of test credit cards to use, instead of using a real credit card.

Since you mentioned that your traffic and sales have been picking up recently, I wanted to share a handy guide to fine-tune your website to push people closer to making a purchase. If you have any questions at all, please so let me know and we can continue our conversation further!

All the best.
