Out of stock when still we have stock

Topic summary

Main issue: Shopify shows products as out of stock while 30 units exist in one location; store is synced with Etsy and the merchant wants inventory managed in a single place.

Proposed tools: Recommendation to use an Etsy integration app from the Shopify App Store, specifically “Etsy Integration,” to handle synchronization between Etsy and Shopify.

Diagnosis: Based on the shared screenshot (central to the analysis), the store likely has multiple inventory locations. If quantities are split and the online store’s assigned location has zero, products will appear sold out even if another location has stock. Clarification requested on whether locations are managed by a third‑party app or via Shopify’s Locations settings.

Workarounds: Enable “Continue selling when out of stock” in Shopify, or implement custom coding depending on business needs.

Status/outcome: Merchant will try the integration app. Resolution not confirmed; next steps are to review location setup and inventory assignments to ensure the correct location feeds the online store inventory.

Hi @OakstheWood

Please take a look at these kinds of app on Shopify App Store which perform these kinds of integration and synchronization between etsy and Shopify.

I personally recommend Etsy Integration.

Hope this helps.

Thank you,

Thank you , will try it, but will it solve my problem when on Shopify I have products out of stock when I have 30 on stock in one location?

Hi @OakstheWood

Based on the screenshot you’ve sent & information provided on the previous thread, looks like there are multiple location for inventory.

Are you using any third party app to manage location & inventory or you’ve used Locations provided on Shopify Admin Settings?

If you have created multiple location and assigned individual Quantity on each location, then the Sold Out seems correct.

One way you can overcome this is to enable Continue Selling when the stock is out or depending on your problem statement, have some custom coding done.

Hope this helps.

Let me know if you have additional queries.

Thank you

Sajat
