I need to add a product that includes 5 activities at a tourist destination. We need to keep track of the number of uses per customer. I am thinking the best way to add this product is as a gift certificate. Any other ideas I am overlooking that does not include adding another app? Thank you for your input!

A gift certificate probably isn’t the best fit here, since gift cards in Shopify don’t track number of uses per activity they just deduct value.
Better options:
Create it as a normal product (recommended)
Sell it as a single product (e.g. 5-Activity Pass”) and then
Use an app that supports multi-use passes / vouchers
Or generate a unique code per order and manually track redemptions
There are booking / ticketing apps that allow:
Limited redemptions (5 uses)
QR code scanning
Usage tracking per customer
Use a booking / ticket app
Apps designed for:
Tours
Attractions
Experience passes
These usually support:
Multi-activity bundles
Redemption limits
Staff-side tracking
This is much more scalable than gift cards.
