Package delivered to wrong address and state

It’s been over a month and still have not received my package. Recently came to find out that it was delivered to someone in New Jersey and I live in California. I have been battling with the merchant because they keep saying package has been delivered but come to find out it is Shopify that delivered it to the wrong address and state. It’s now coming down to possibly getting a lawyer involved. The lack of communication between both parties is frustrating and you need to be held accountable!!

Attached you will see it was delivered to someone in New Jersey, not California!!

Hi, @Cocteau .

It’s definitely disappointing to hear that you’ve not received your order after waiting for a month, so I can understand your frustrations. You mentioned that you’ve come to find out that it was Shopify that delivered your order to the wrong address — was this information verified by the seller you purchased from?

For context, sellers that are operating on our platform are responsible for fulfilling and shipping their own orders. The exception to this is if they’re using a third-party app or service to help with their order fulfilment, or if they’re using our Shopify Fulfilment Network (SFN) service. For sellers using our SFN service however, our system will still simply pull a customer’s shipping information directly from the seller’s order information that the customer has filled out on checkout. If any errors occur with the shipping address, SFN will decline the fulfilment request as per this guide.

So from here, even if the seller you purchased from is utilizing our SFN service, you will still need to communicate with them directly for a resolution. If the seller believes there is an issue with the SFN fulfilment part of your order, they can contact us directly so that we can further assist them from our end.

If, however, you’re unable to come up with a resolution with the seller, you can contact your bank or card provider directly for your next steps. Most banks have built-in security measures to protect you as a buyer, and they will be able to provide you with the appropriate next steps. More information about this can be found in this guide.
