I am looking to add a pick list to my shopify store as I sell many different items with many different parts included. My customers can order ‘a la carte’, so they can order anything from a huge kit, down to a single component of a larger item. So I need a very specific feature in my pick list which ‘totals’ up all the individual parts of whichever item the customer is ordering so we can accurately package the order. We used to use Americommerce and Shipworks and we had a working version of this for years using an csv/excel sheet.
It kind of depends. Are you using some sort of bundle app to sell your kits?
No, I am not. The products themselves are just made up of certain amounts of components. The listing for the product on my site tells the customer what they are going to get, but the product name is generic. My site is guineapigcagecompany.com if you look at any of the cages we sell perhaps that will shed some light on the situation. Sometimes customers will buy five or ten products that each have various amounts of similar components, right now we have to look at each order and manually calculate how many of those components to put in the package, sometimes this is hundreds of components totaled across all of those products, so you can see how easily we could make a mathematical error in totaling EVERY order.
