Hey. I have a small shop which currently only sells handmade calligraphy pens (nightowlpens.com). I am looking to expand my inventory in the near future, but I will never be a high volume seller since I make the products myself.
I am looking to upgrade to a paid theme, but I’m confused. I love the look of the Symmetry theme, but the specs say it’s for large volume shops. Do I need to worry about the fact I’m not a large volume shop.
Any advice on choosing a paid theme would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hi @Night_Owl_Pens
If a theme supports large volume shops that is a plus. Mostly the difference is collection page filters, which enable customers to filter products and find faster what they want. For small shops, you do not need filters in most cases. For example, you have 14 products and you can display them all in one page so no need to filter them. The symmetry theme is in both the 10-199 and 200+ products range on the Shopify theme so you should be fine if you really like that theme. It is a nice one. But before buying you can test it out and see if you have content for that theme. Some video or image sections would maybe require you to create new content. But see how it goes. Some features/sections you can disable in the start and maybe use them later.
And just one suggestion, do think of changing the names of your products, so they are more unique and not all “Wood Calligraphy Pen”.
Good luck with sales.
Thanks so much. This was most helpful.
