Parallax Image on Mobile Not the Same as Desktop

Topic summary

Issue: On a Shopify store’s homepage, parallax/background images appear differently on mobile—specifically looking zoomed in—compared to desktop. The behavior occurs across all homepage images. Two screenshots (mobile vs. desktop) are included and are central to understanding the visual discrepancy.

Context: “Parallax” refers to a background scrolling effect where the image moves at a different speed than foreground content, often handled differently on mobile.

Support request: A support representative asked for the page URL and password to investigate further.

Access provided: The merchant shared caseifyworld.com with the password “pookify” and followed up to confirm the credentials worked.

Other input: One brief reply suggested something about setting a background image for the mobile “terminal,” but it was unclear and provided no actionable steps.

Status: No diagnosis, settings guidance, or fix has been provided yet. No theme name or code changes were discussed. The issue remains open, pending support feedback after accessing the store.

Hey everyone,

Doing the final touches for my store, I saw that the desktop and mobile views are completely different for background images. On mobile, it looks zoomed in. The first pic below is the mobile view, and the second is the normal desktop view. It does this for all the pictures on my home page. If anyone has any idea how I could fix this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
