Parallax Theme :: My Newsletter Section Doesn't Trigger a Confirmation Message

Hello!

I’m using Out of the Sandbox’s Parallax Theme, and I could use some help with triggering my store’s newsletter to provide a confirmation message when users sign up.

Currently, when users click “Sign up,” they don’t receive a confirmation notice, so they don’t know whether they’ve been added to the newsletter (please see a snapshot of my newsletter section below):

I’m not looking for anything fancy.

Just a confirmation message on the website that says something like: “Thank you for signing up for our newsletter!”

I’m launching my store on Monday and would appreciate some help straightening this out!

Many thanks for considering my request :slightly_smiling_face:

Great! Thanks @MarkSeal !

What’s the next step?

Hey @MarkSeal !

I don’t mean to be a pest. I have one more day to figure this out before launching my store on Monday.

I know it’s the weekend, but if you could get back to me later today or tomorrow, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks for considering my request

@MarkSeal

Would prefer to keep the correspondence here.

What do you need from me to fix this?

@MarkSeal Just shot a DM to your Shopify Community account

Hi, @TimDono1 .

Thanks for posting to the Community Forums. I hope you’re well.

The reason your theme is not sending a confirmation email is because you actually need to set this up separately in an email notification app like Shopify Inbox. Theme’s are only built to collect the customer’s address, the confirmation email would require a second step.

To have a confirmation email automatically sent, you will need to enable double opt-in in your Shopify Admin. To enable this, head to Settings > Notifications > Select double opt in. Then, you customize the basic Shopify notification by heading to Settings > Notifications > Email Confirmation.

In the meantime, I had a look at your site and it’s awesome! The only thing I can recommend is to create a site footer as well as some additional navigation for ease of use. For example, the only menu item you have is ‘Sign Up Now.’ This can create a lack of trust with your visitors. Some great navigation items would be: Contact and About Jordan.

As you are selling an in person course, you will need to add some policies to make the purchase contract with your customers clear. For example: Privacy Policy, Cancellation Policy, and Terms of Service. These can be create by heading to Settings > Legal, and then creating your store’s footer under Online Store > Navigiation.

Lastly, I do want to touch on the removal of MarkSeal’s comments. If a user is commenting but not providing a solution, and is trying to move your conversation away from the Forums; they are generally trying to solicit their paid services. This is against the Forum rules and we recommend avoiding these users in the future.
