If a customer pays via PayPal, and I don’t have it set up, how do I receive a payout?

Hey!

If a purchase was made through PayPal but you haven’t completed setting up your PayPal account yet, the payment might be pending because it was sent to an unverified PayPal account at the time of order creation. Here’s what you should do to receive the money:

  1. Confirm that the PayPal account connected to your store is correct by checking in your Shopify admin under Settings > Payments > PayPal section.

  2. Complete the setup of your PayPal account by following the steps in your Shopify admin: go to Settings > Payments, find PayPal under Additional payment methods, and click Setup incomplete or Complete setup.

  3. Verify your PayPal account email address as required by PayPal. This verification can take up to two business days for the payment to be deposited.

  4. Before marking the order as paid in Shopify, make sure you have received the payment in your PayPal account.
