Photos for my "Featured Products" on home page are too big - Dawn Theme

Hi so I’m pretty new to Shopify and this is my website Tan Madonna’s . I’ve been having a lot of issues with correct photo sizes. If you scroll down on the home page to “Featured Products” those photos are wayyy too big. I’m hoping to get them to the size like on this website. I am also having this same issue on “Collections” pages like “Bikini Tops” and “Bikini Bottoms”. If you click on those, the two products I have listed right now, the pictures are too big.

Any help fixing this would be appreciated, even if it includes a little bit of coding!

Make it Smaller from your setting,

their are setting is available into your theme.

Let me know if you need any more help,
Thank you.

Where would this be in settings? I have looked under “Them Settings” and under the “Featured Product” section. The only thing I’m allowed to change is the max width from 1600 to 1200 and that makes no difference.

Hi @patricia0928 ,

As I understand it, you’re using a section on your Dawn theme to display your featured collection and you’d like to make your pictures smaller.

This is a customization that we cannot support. So you could of course get tips from others using our community forums, or you could hire a Shopify Expert by looking through our directory.

However, I would like to ask why it is that you want to make those images smaller? And the reason I’m asking is that every decision on your homepage should have a concrete benefit in terms of User Experience.

For example: do you think that smaller images will be cleaner or neater? Will they be easier or harder to see? Is this true of mobile and desktop?

I would like to draw your attention to some fundamental laws in UX design. In particular, no. 5 - Fitt’s law: Make the UI elements you wish to be easily accessible large enough, and position them close to users. This is what it looks like in action -

Sometimes bigger is better, and less is more because it draws attention more readily and quickly. It helps you foreground your products to your customers, with less clutter and more clarity.

Just a thought! I hope it helps.
