A tough question to summarize, but the best example is Footjoy’s custom MyJoys tool that lets buyers design their own shoe by allowing the colour or pattern of each part to be chosen as an option. I need this for a web site in development for a different product, so I am asking the community and shopify cs folks hanging about here, if there are any already-made themes or super high quality apps to provide similar functionality, or advice from someone who has gone down this path.
Easiest to see by example…
- go to footjoy dot ca
- click ‘MyJoys’ in top menu
- click ‘design my own’ at the right beside the three shoes shown
- pick any of the shoes shown next
- in the window for the selected shoe that opens, click ‘New Design’ at the right (under the price).
The resulting customization panel taking up the right side of the window, and the ability to see the customization reflected on the blank shoe canvas to the left, is the kind of functionality I seek.
