I think its more worrying that Shopify removes such feature without notice. And now is hiding behind a solution to hire a developer. Why should you invest more money into custom solutions if Shopify can just pull the plug without notice again.

Same problem here - my client has a Shop in Switzerland and it is very common that customers from Germany or France will pick up their pieces. Very disappointing that the option was removed.

Shopify gave us “Third party” apps to fix this. But forgot these third party apps aren’t for the check-out. And thus need to be choosen in the cart which we have custom build.

Still pretty mad on Shopify that they’ve changed this so badly.
