Is it possible to make all the photos on the collection page as well as the home page the same size even though some are portrait and some are square? Does not look professional or uniform.

You can change Image ratio in your store admin > Settings > Online Store > Themes > Customize > click Homepage drowdown menu > Collections > Default collection > Product grid > Image ratio > select Portrait or Square option, click Save button.
Thank you Dan, that helped with my home page, and I tried the same application to my collection but the 2 non-uniform sized pictures are still the same. I’ve tried Portrait, Square, Adapt to image and the 2 still stick out. I’ve read a lot of the other posts and tried some of the recs in CSS, but to no avail. I’ve even tried resizing the photos and redoing each product yet still experiencing the same issue.
