I want to sort the produt on collection page such a way that Newly added product shows first. This can be easily done by editing collection. But I want to pin certain top selling product on top of colection page. How can I do without app?

The limitation with the no-app approach is that manual ordering stops the rest of the collection from automatically following “Newest.” Shopify doesn’t natively combine fixed products at the top with automatic sorting underneath.
If using an app is now an option, SortLock was built for this exact arrangement: choose Newest as the Base Sort Rule, then pin selected top-selling products to fixed positions above it. New products continue sorting automatically underneath the pins.
