I have seen so many people ask for this, and still can’t believe that such a basic function isn’t available. This should not be something we have to pay an outside app to do. It’s really simple to enable the comments on the blog, so that customers can leave their feedback on the published blog posts.

Here is the step by step explanation on how you can enable the comments.

Go to Shopify Admin —> Content —> Blog Posts —> Manage Blogs

Once you click on the Manage Blogs then you’ll see all blog categories. In my case it’s News category. And you might notice the comment are turned off for the blog categories. Something I share below.

Now you just need to click on that category and then you need to Enable the comments.

I think that was not a question. So, not how to enable comments, but how to reply to comments, as an admin. To engage in a discussion with the customer.

I think it is clear, “an option to reply to blog comments!” , so reply (as admin) to blog comments ( of the users). But yeah should be clarified.

Looks like a lot of people are asking for this feature. And there are some paid options.

I mean replying to customers as an admin. There is no built in option for this, and I just feel like it’s super basic and very frustrating to not be able to engage with customers directly. I have been emailing them when they leave comments with questions, which just takes much more time than being able to hit a ‘reply’ button.
