Agreed this would save a lot of clicks. As a workaround today: create the shipping profile first under Settings > Shipping and delivery > Custom profiles, then use the profile’s “Add products” picker to attach items. For recurring assignment, tagging products and using a bulk editor, Shopify Flow, or the Admin API to attach them to a deliveryProfile is the closest thing to automation right now. Worth posting this on the official Shopify ideas/feedback board too, since that’s where product decisions get tracked; a forum thread alone won’t reach the shipping team.
