Topic summary

A Shopify store owner seeks feedback on their lash e-commerce site (llarialashes.com) to improve sales.

Primary Issues Identified:

  • Color scheme & readability: White/pink/baby blue text combinations create poor contrast, making content difficult to read
  • Oversized header: Logo and header occupy roughly 1/4 of the page, pushing important content below the fold
  • Missing contact information: No business address, phone number, or email provided
  • Technical issues: Horizontal overflow problem when scrolling left/right

Key Recommendations:

  • Replace image carousel with shoppable product images using hotspot apps
  • Reduce header size and make navigation/announcement bar sticky
  • Add customer reviews, testimonials, and lifestyle product photos showing lashes being worn
  • Improve product descriptions with details about durability, reusability, and care instructions
  • Implement urgency tactics (low-stock alerts, countdown timers)
  • Create product bundles and discount offers to increase order value
  • Optimize site speed through image compression
  • Develop SEO content (blog posts like “How to Apply False Lashes”)
  • Set up email campaigns and retargeting ads for abandoned visitors

The store owner acknowledges the feedback and plans to implement suggested improvements. Discussion remains open for further assistance.

I’ve been on Shopify for some time and need some help getting sales. Can you please check my website and give me honest feedback llarialashes.com and what you would do to improve? Thanks

Hi,

The text is hard to read with the color scheme you’ve chosen.

The first thing people see when they go to your store is an image carousel. People do not like carousels.

You can create an image of your most expensive products. Then use an app like Shoppable Image Hotspots

The app will allow you to create links to every product in the image, making it easier for visitors to see and buy your products.

HI @Llaria-Lashes01

I agree with @convertifyapps that the text is hard to read and your colors are not the best choice. It is hard to read because there is very little contrast. White text on bright pink baby blue on white or pink on white requires you to really strain your eyes to read. My first thought was that you had some white overlay across the whole website as it is all fuzzy and blurry.

Next, your logo should be taking up less space, the whole header is like 1/4 of the page which is not needed. You want to have as much as possible of important content above the fold. So customers see content straight away without scrolling.

Think you could add more reviews and if possible videos or just images from customers.

One important thing I always check is contact information and you have none, no business info, address, phone or even email.

Still good luck with sales and continue to improve your site.

@Llaria-Lashes01 Hey, thanks for posting here.
im also agreed with @Laza_Binaery and @convertifyapps .
I have some reviewed things with SS.

Your header hight is extra, you need to menage it.

You could have also placed them in a square; it would look good in a square and don’t put in sider.

change the text color to be dark opposite the background. it’s hard to read.

Hi there, I’m Kate from PageFly - Shopify Landing Page Builder.

Congrats on your new store! The website is informative & looks majestic. I had a good experience exploring it. However, from my Conversion Rate Optimization expertise, I would like to give you some suggestions regarding the store design to make the store more stunning and better convert.

  1. General
  • Improve the header

The current header takes up so much room and looks a bit overwhelming. Make the logo smaller to get a better visual for the header.

  • Improve the announcement bar

Consider making the header menu bar & announcement bar sticky to the top of the page. By ensuring that users can easily navigate, a sticky menu bar can help keep users engaged with your content.. Also, important information featured on the announcement bar will not be missed.

Another thing is the text color in the announcement bar. It’s quite hard to read because of the low contrast with the background.

  • Check overflow issue carefully

There is an overflow issue in your page when I scroll left or right. Even small things matter so you should pay attention to this as it affects the UX.

  1. Homepage
  • Pay attention to the first product showcase: The first product showcase on your homepage is a highly important touch point as it would decide whether or not visitors have interest in your products and make a purchase.
  • Add an “Explore more” button to allow shoppers to view additional products. This would help reduce bounce rate and allow more chances of getting sales as they can continue to explore other options to their liking.
  • Align the product list layout and highlight the price information as hoppers often visit e-commerce websites with the primary intent of finding and comparing prices. You should use another color or set it with other stylings to make the price information more noticeable

  1. Product page
  • Improve the Buy section
  • Highlight the important information to the color of the title and also the price to make it more visible

  • Include Review/Testimonial section into your product page

I understand your store is new, but just a friendly-reminder, don’t forget reviews are essential to the shopping experience. You should add a testimonial section to build trust for your products’ quality. If there are not enough rating stars, consider using text & images to showcase feedback of your first orders.

That’s all of my feedback. I hope it will increase your website’s conversion rate. Feel free to reach me in the reply section if you need further discussions. Wish you luck and endurance on your entrepreneurship journey!

Overall Score: 6.75

Color: 7
Review: The color scheme of this website is mainly pink, which gives people a soft and warm feeling. However, too much pink may cause visual fatigue, especially when browsing for a long time.

Suggest: You can consider adding some contrasting colors, such as white or light gray, to balance the overall tone and make the page look fresher and easier to read.

Layout: 6.5
Review: The page layout is relatively neat and the product display is clear, but the elements of some pages are slightly crowded, which may affect the user experience.

Suggest: The spacing of page elements can be optimized to ensure that each part has enough breathing space. At the same time, you can consider using a simpler navigation structure to improve user browsing efficiency.

Hi @Llaria-Lashes01

Thanks for sharing your website, llarialashes.com. I checked it out, and I’d be happy to offer my honest feedback to help you boost sales. Here’s what I noticed and some suggestions that I think could really make a difference:

1. Homepage- First Impression: Your homepage looks clean and professional, but it could be more engaging. Adding a hero banner with a clear message (e.g., “Luxury Lashes for Every Occasion”) and a strong call-to-action (like “Shop Now”) might capture visitors’ attention better. Right now, it feels like something is missing to immediately hook people.

  • Navigation: Your menu is straightforward, which is great, but you could highlight bestsellers or popular collections directly in the menu to guide customers faster.
  • Trust Elements: Consider adding customer reviews or testimonials on the homepage, as they build trust with new visitors. A “Featured In” or “As Seen On” section could also add credibility if applicable.

2. Product Pages- Product Images: Your lash product photos are nice, but they might benefit from lifestyle shots showing people wearing them. It helps potential buyers visualize the product better.

  • Descriptions: The descriptions could use a bit more detail. Talk about what makes your lashes unique (e.g., comfort, durability, lightweight, reusable). Add care instructions or tips for first-time lash users to make it more helpful.
  • Pricing Transparency: Your prices seem fair, but mentioning the benefits (e.g., how many uses each lash pair provides) might make customers feel like they’re getting great value.
  • Urgency: Adding things like low-stock alerts or a countdown timer for promotions can create a sense of urgency and encourage quicker purchases.

3. Website Speed

I noticed the site could be faster. A slow-loading site can drive potential customers away. Compressing images, optimizing code, and using Shopify’s built-in tools or apps like “PageSpeed Optimizer” can improve this.

4. Mobile Optimization

Since many users shop on mobile, your site should be flawless on smaller screens. While it’s functional, there’s room to improve—like resizing some sections or ensuring buttons and text are easier to click and read.

5. Checkout Process

Make sure the checkout feels seamless. Add multiple payment options (if not already there) and reassure customers with security badges or a message like, “Your payment is 100% secure.”

6. Marketing Suggestions- Email Marketing: Use email popups with discounts (like “Get 15% off your first purchase”) to collect emails. Then, create campaigns targeting potential buyers with promotions or lash tips.

  • Social Proof: Actively share customer reviews, before-and-after pictures, and user-generated content on your website and social media. It builds credibility and encourages purchases.
  • Bundles and Discounts: Try offering lash bundles or discounts for buying multiple pairs. It’s a great way to increase the average order value.
  • Retargeting Ads: Many people browse and leave without buying. Use Facebook or Instagram retargeting ads to bring them back to your site.

7. SEO

Your website could benefit from a blog or guide section. For example, create content like “How to Apply False Lashes” or “Top Lash Styles for Every Occasion.” It’ll help drive organic traffic through Google while positioning your brand as an expert.

Final Thoughts

Your site has a lot of potential, and the products look great! It’s just about fine-tuning a few areas to build trust and convert visitors into buyers. If I were to focus on a couple of things right away, it would be:

  1. Adding lifestyle photos and improving product descriptions.
  2. Boosting your homepage with an engaging banner and trust signals.
  3. Running email campaigns and retargeting ads to bring back visitors.

If you need any other assistance, I am willing to help.

Best regards,
Daisy
