I have a user (staff) whose permission is only on Products. They will add and edit products to our Shopify web store, HOWEVER, Shopify made the taxes checkbox (Charge tax on this product) automatically checked and read-only (they can’t uncheck it) whenever they add a new product, so the master staff have to uncheck them every single time they add a new product and it’s a hassle (because the products they add are not taxable). This has been going on for a long time and we’ve honestly had enough.

Please have them uncheck/check that field, or at least have that as an editable permission on the user/staff setting.

Login and then Open backend go to product and click product and uncheck “Charge tax on this product” and save it. Accept as solution please

No, I don’t think you understand the issue.

We know that. But the problem is that the staff/users who have Product roles on the backend cannot uncheck that, and that’s what we wanted fixed.
