Hi, does anyone know of an app or add-on that will allow me to force the customer to choose their language on entering the site? the translation is already handled so i just need to make them choose a language before they continue to the site. At the moment I have only got a pull down option at the top, but not everyone sees that and i am loosing customers because they think the site is only in English.

I got your Point. Here is example of website that nearly match your requirements (https://www.nike.com/) But nike ask for location of Customer and you want Language.

I can help you with two methods.
First One with Custom Solution.
If you want that when custom land your website then there show a popup and on popup then can select the language that they want and after that they see the text in language that they selected. So this require custom coding to do that.
Second option is by using Shopify.

I highly recommend Langify Shopify app. Which offer a popup to select the language.
