A store owner needs a vendor portal solution for third-party suppliers to upload hire/rental products—both individually and via CSV—without requiring sales checkout or payment processing functionality.
Current situation:
Store displays items available for hire only
Cart and checkout are disabled; visitors can only request quotes
Sales functionality planned for future (approximately one year out)
Requirements:
Simple vendor interface for product uploads
Product approval/review capability before publishing
Proposed solution:
BundleSync offered a product data management platform allowing vendors to upload products and share them for review before pushing to Shopify. The store owner expressed interest and initiated contact to explore this option.

I have a store that displays items which are available for hire. The checkout and add to cart button are disabled because no sales are done through the store - visitors can only request a quote (this will change in future, but it will take a year or so).
My question is, does anyone know of an interface that would allow 3rd party vendors to load their products to the store both singly and via .csv upload? I’ve looked at a Shopify app for Multi Vendor Marketplace, but it has more sales tracking and payment functionality than I need, and the vendor dashboard is likely to be too cluttered and off-putting to our vendors.
If there isn’t an off the shelf way solution or app, can any developers give an idea of how hard this would be to achieve? Approx hours of work perhaps.
You probably want to be able to control the products being uploaded before publishing them.
Our product data management platform lets users upload products and then share them to other users. That user can then push directly to Shopify after confirming all data is correct. We offer more B2B functionality but if you are looking for a simpler solution this might be enough.

Thanks for responding. You are right that checking the products before publishing would be an ideal scenario. I was going to have to add tags and add them to collections anyway. I’ve dropped you an email.
