POS Custom Fields per item in Order - Coffee orders

I want to use our Shopify POS for cafe sales. Is it possible to add customizations to each individual line item? For example, if someone orders three lattes, I want to be able to add customizations to each one individually as I take the order in the POS. One might have vanilla, one might have oak milk, and another simply plain.

I have tried Globo, Infinite Options, and ShopFields, and they all can’t add customizations to the individual line item if there are multiple of the same product.

I’ve seen infinite options solution and your use case I believe a custom POS UI Extension is what you would need. Using a SmartTile you can customize the items then proceed to cart. You would need a UI within the smart tile and the ingredients would need to be pulled from a database. Could possibly use product variants but wouldn’t present the items the best way in POS cart. A custom app with the extension would be needed to accomplish this.

I appreciate your question is quite old now, but I just wanted to reach out to say that our app POSify: POS Customizations allows merchants to add customization options to individial items in the cart, even those items are all the same product. So you’d be able to set different customization options for each of the 3 lattes in your example!

Shopify POS applies customizations to the full quantity on a single line item.

To customize each latte differently, add them as separate line items qty 1 each instead of increasing the quantity to 3. Then you can attach different modifiers to each one.

Most product options apps are built for Online Store and don’t fully support per-line customization in POS.
