POS Question - can you take payment over the phone, without customer present?

We want a terminal that we can use both at our home office to take payments over the phone and mobile for use on site. Is this something that Shopify POS can offer? TIA

Taking payments over the phone

For remote transactions, log in to the Admin via web browser or the Shopify mobile app to accept credit card payments.

Using the Admin via Desktop or Shopify Mobile App:1. Open the order from the Drafts page from your Shopify admin.

  1. Click Collect payment.

  2. Click Pay by credit card.

  3. Enter the customer’s billing and credit card information.

  4. Click Charge to confirm your payment settings and create an order from your draft order.

Taking payments in-person

For in-person transactions and on the go, use the Shopify POS app.

You can accept different payment methods in Shopify POS so that your customers have a choice of payment options at checkout. Depending on the hardware that you are using and the payment methods that you accept, a customer can pay for a purchase using a credit card.
