POS Sales Tax disappear on one specific product ?

Hi. One of our product has sales taxes enabled, but the POS does not charge taxes.

Other similar products have their sales tax appear.
Looks like a bug, not a setting change on our side.
Would you fix it?

It does sound like a bug, especially if other similar products are charging tax correctly and you haven’t changed any settings.

Here are a few quick things to double-check first:

  1. Product tax settings – Make sure the specific product still has “Charge tax on this product” checked.

  2. Product type or category – Sometimes, tax overrides are tied to the product type or category. Compare it with one of the working products.

  3. POS tax override settings – Check if your POS location has any custom tax overrides that might affect just that product or category.

  4. Location-specific tax rules – If you’re using Shopify POS Pro, see if this issue happens at all locations or just one.

If everything looks correct and it’s still not charging tax, this may very well be a platform glitch. You should contact Shopify Support directly so they can check the backend and escalate it if needed.
