We are due to release a new line of products which will be sold as a bundle but cannot be sold separately. However, currently, in the warehouse, they are individual products and so will need to be packed together once the mix and match bundle is created by the customer (different sizes and shapes).
Does an app exist which allows products to be bundled together, but on the order confirmation for the fulfillment house, they are presented on separate lines, as separate products? Meanwhile, they also cannot be sold separately.
You need to set up the products as a single bundled product in your store and set up the options for them as different variations.
Our Bundleup app will let you set up a virtual bundle like any other product so when the customer purchases it only one line shows in checkout. This means they cannot remove components and just purchase one of them instead which would happen if you used a theme based bundle solution that adds all components to cart. After purchase we then split the order into the components so it can be fulfilled with the correct SKUs.

1. Inventory Management
We update the virtual bundle SKU with inventory based on the component stock levels. So if a component is out of stock your bundle will also show out of stock.
2. Bulk Set Up
If you are dealing with variations there are a lot to go through and set up so rather than doing them one by one we offer a bulk CSV file upload solution to automate the process and reduce the time it takes to set up. This also lets you update products easier if you ever need to change them.
Depending on the options you wish to have you may run into the max variation limit of 100 so keep this in mind when setting up your products. You could set up options like:

You then set up all the variations with the actual components within our app.
The individual component SKUs are set to not be available for purchase so a customer cannot buy directly but we can add it to order post purchase.

The use of Simple Bundles can enable you to achieve this. To start, you will need to create the basic product and its options in Shopify. For instance, consider the example provided below.
Once you have created the product options, you can determine the number of product variants or combinations that your customers can choose from in your storefront.
You can also make your SKUs available exclusively through bundles. To do this, navigate to the product included in the bundle in your Shopify admin, select Sales Channels and apps, and ensure that you uncheck “Online Store” to hide the individual product from the storefront. When customers order the bundle that the product is a part of, you can verify in your Shopify admin that the individual product SKUs have been successfully added to their orders.
