Possible to show customers a preview of personalized book before purchase?

Hi,

I’m looking to add a product customization feature to my store where customers can:

1. Upload their own photo

2. We use that image to create a customized book and enable the customer to preview of how their book will look on (before purchasing).

We have 14 different images generated from that single photo uploaded and we want to show them all to the customer. The images would be generated on fal.ai.

Technical details I’m wondering about:

• Is this possible with Shopify’s native features?

• If not, are there any recommended apps that can handle this?

• Would this require custom development?

• Are there any limitations I should be aware of?

Any guidance, app recommendations, or developer references would be greatly appreciated!

Shopify’s native features don’t offer live preview functionality, but you can easily achieve this with an app. Easify Product Options is a great choice for adding customization and photo upload features. However, for displaying 14 generated images from fal.ai, you may need additional development or a more specialized app.

To use live preview feature, you just need to Enable Live Preview in Product Personalizer for both text and image like this:
