At the moment, it’s not possible on Shopify Basic or Growth plans to let customers select a pickup or service point during the checkout process, specifically in the shipping and payment method step.
In my opinion, this is a major limitation of Shopify, and there seems to be no valid justification for blocking this feature. Why is this the case?
Pickup point delivery is an extremely common and expected option in countries such as the Netherlands, Germany, and France. By not offering this during checkout, you’re losing a significant number of potential customers who simply don’t know what to do next.
The only current option is to upgrade to a very expensive Shopify Plus plan at $2,300 per month, which is not realistic for many businesses.
Why has this feature been removed or not implemented properly? Why can it only be shown on the thank-you page, where many customers ignore or misunderstand it, instead of directly in the checkout flow where it belongs?
Please, Shopify — bring this option back or provide a solution to enable this at checkout! This is a crucial feature for merchants in many European countries.
